During my time at HTC, I worked on a point-of-sale concept that would allow hardware and software customization prior to purchase. The software would run on an HTC tablet in a retail environment.
A key goal was to keep the customization simple for the user, yet high-impact. Branded options (sports teams, music, etc) would vary by region, and possibly by demographic. A social aspect was included allowing HTC customers to share themes, which would be created and shared post-sale with an separate application.
After settling on an interaction model, a use-case click-through was created, combining basic wireframes with polished visuals for devices & themes.
